• a cashmere comb or fabric shaver
we also offer a cashmere laundry service at our amsterdam flagship.
1. washing
cashmere loves water! most extreme cashmere garments are machine washable and easy to maintain.
wash your cashmere regularly in a high-quality machine – we recommend Miele – on a wool program (30°C/86°F at 600rpm).
to preserve the softness of your cashmere, wash with wool detergent and no softener.
wash no more than three cashmere garments of similar colou per cycle — each in its own bag or pillowcase.
2. drying
after washing, dry your cashmere garment lying flat on a towel to prevent it from stretching out.
avoid hanging your cashmere clothing to dry.
3. pilling and ironing
many natural fibers pill — cashmere included. some styles and colors show it more than others. after washing, remove excess pilling with a cashmere comb or fabric shaver.
with proper care, pilling will lessen over time.
iron your cashmere at a low temperature, placing a thin cloth between the iron and the garment. this will help ease the fibers and get them back into place.
4. storing and resting
after wearing, let your cashmere rest for a day or two. this allows the fibers to recover their shape.
always store your cashmere folded in a drawer or on a shelf. if you hang it on a hanger, it will lose its shape.
5. cutting
all extreme cashmere garments come with a fabric care label stitched inside. before wearing, remove it and save it for later.
the hem of some cashmere trousers and dresses can be trimmed, should you want them a little shorter. take them to a local tailor — or reach out to us for advice.
